  9.     Television producer Marian Inova, formerly with the Jet
  10. Propulsion Laboratory, has been awarded the first-place 1990 Blue
  11. Pencil-Gold Screen Award by the National Association of
  12. Government Communicators (NAGC).
  13.     Inova, an independent television and video consultant, won
  14. the award for her production of "Voyager: The Grand Tour," a four
  15. and one-half minute long impressionistic retrospective of the
  16. Voyager mission to the outer planets.
  17.     Judges from national news outlets and other organizations
  18. selected the winners from among more than 850 entries. 
  19. Categories included television, film, still photography and the
  20. print media.  The competition is open each year to writers,
  21. photographers, broadcasters and other communicators in federal,
  22. state and local government.
  23.     A graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles,
  24. Inova received her master's degree in motion pictures/television
  25. in 1981.      
  26.     She joined JPL in March 1982 and worked as a producer in the
  27. Audio-Visual Section until February 1990, when she became an
  28. independent producer.
  29.     A resident of the San Fernando Valley, Inova, 36, is
  30. currently working on two documentaries, one to concentrate on
  31. environmental issues and another one-hour holiday special.
